Tools Programmer

iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC, the world’s leading and most authentic PC-based racing simulation, is seeking a Tools Programmer with strong proficiency in creating and maintaining development tools and pipelines that improve workflow efficiency to join our team.

The Position

As a Tools Programmer at iRacing, you will be working on an exciting, recently announced console-focused realistic racing game. You will be primarily responsible for developing the tools to handle the import/export workflows of game data, including owning the pipeline and conversion of 3D worlds and
related assets such as track and collision data.

Responsibilities

  • Create tooling to convert and import track and geometry data
  • Maintain and update the world editor tool with feature placement and data import/export pipelines as required
  • Support the tools needs of the gameplay, audio and UI development teams
  • Test, debug, profile and optimize code
  • Contribute to, and support the technical roadmap for future titles

Requirements

  • Highly proficient in C++
  • Experience with mesh data formats and 3D geometry
  • A strong foundation in linear algebra
  • Proficiency in manipulating image and texture formats via code
  • Familiarity with Python
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent training or relevant professional experience
  • Experience with game development tools such as Visual Studio, JIRA, Git

At iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations LLC, for this position we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay a salary in the range of $130,000.00 – $230,000.00.
This range reflects our estimate of what the employer expects to pay for this position at the time of posting, excluding other benefits.
